Not bad for a first episode. I listen to a lot of podcasts and they always take a few eps to find their feet and structure so looking forward to where you take it. |

Found it a little odd that you didnt mention that the mining frig gets a 250% bonus to gas harvester yield, making it the best gas miner available. It's by far the most significant addition for WH people.
I like that youre bringing guests on, good call. |

Hi guys, nice episode. I was sad to hear that recent events are putting you off a C5 move so I'm going to dump my 2c here ;)
While youre considering a move to a C5 WH, you should also consider what static you want that C5 to have. There is a big difference between how C5>C5/6 corps can expect to opperate compared to a C5>C4/3/2 (No one wants a C1 static) corp. Basically you want to be able to engage with the people youre going to connect to. In a C5>C5/6 this generally means you need a reasonable size T3 fleet with logi support and at least some access to capitals. In a C5>C4/3/2 however, the fleets you will need to bring to fights down your chain will be no different than the one you currently use in your C4>C3 as the people you run into will be the same. You will of course be rolled into by a different breed of corps so you should be able to engage with them on at least some level.
Realistically, the chance of you being evicted from a C5>C3/2 hole is not that high. Yes, it's easier than a C4 but someone sould still need to want to do it and given you give fights and are reasonably well known/respected via the podcast, I would say it is fairly unlikely. (As a note, all of the recent evictions on the forums have been people cashing in long term personal grudges.)
A C5>C3/2 hole will allow you to maintain the same style of PVP as you do now but will also open up limited access to the higher class PVP world. The benefits of C5 space are obviously also the easy ISK access and while I know you are not a PVE corp, you stil do need to fund your PVP and being able to throw ISK at things is one of the great benefits of WHs.
Personally if I was setting up a small corp in a C5 I would go for a C5>C2 WH. The reason I'd go for a C2 static over a C3 static is that C2s have dual statics so you will always have a kspace through your static, just like a C3, but also further WH access for more PVP potential.
Ultimately it's your decision but I think high end WH space needs more corps like yours. |

Pro Tip: you should use 8 probes ;) You know I've seen you mention 8 probes a lot (not just on the forum), and I'm curious what formation you actually use. The reason I ask is that I too use 8 probes, and I used to use a format where I would have the typical diamond shape, but instead of a square as the mid section, I would have a hexagon (6 probes). So now I just dump probes out in a diamond formation + two probes in the center and just scan (since it's faster and gives me apparently the same results). I really cba to spend a lot of time testing to figure out the optimal setup since it probably will make little difference due to virtues+max probing skills, but just curious. im a bachelor kind of guy so i dont do diamonds. here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TisDb8c2aS4
Quote:However, I saw in one of the threads about the odyssey probing changes that one dev mentioned that it was better to have a probe at the center of the formation and that the loss of the 8th probe didn't matter. While :ccp devs play the game?: I opted to try it and tbh he either is correct or there is very little change. I work in IT as a tester and how devs think their software is going to be/should be used/work and how it's actually used/works tends to be miles apart. (Which is why devs tend to make bad testers and why dedicated testers are needed in all software development.) I'm not blaming the devs for anything or saying there's anything wrong with that, it's just how it tends to be by nature. EVE is no exception. |

Good ep.
Big ups for the Valkyrie Coalition reference :D They were probably my favorite ever group to stalk, had a scout in their C2 for probably over a year. They even made it easy to keep track of my kills there by putting a campaign up on their killboard against my alt corp which was quite fun.
I did wonder where their caps went when they all disappeared off dscan one day, guess that answers it ;) Stuck In Here With Me:-á http://sihwm.blogspot.com.au/ |

I more or less agree that the frig holes are strictly mediocre. I think theyre actually right in the middle; they dont add much but also dont bring anything bad. However I do not think that there is any concern over NS invasions since a) frigs are not really much of an invasion force and b) nullseccers dont give a crap about WHs.
